The Verna and Lionel McGillivray Fund for Children in Saskatchewan
Verna and Lionel McGillivray established their Fund for Children in Saskatchewan with a bequest to the Saskatoon Community Foundation, when Verna passed away shortly after her husband Lionel. This generous Saskatoon couple had several goals for their donation including benefiting “disadvantaged children within the province of Saskatchewan”.
In 2011, this fund has $42,562 available for granting. Twenty-five percent is allocated to Camp East Seal and twenty-five percent to Christmas cheer. The remainder is granted in response to applications.
Applicants must be:
- Registered charities or other qualified donees under Canada Revenue Agency regulations; and
- Serving disadvantaged children 14 and younger
Note: Your organizations’ activities do not need to be aimed solely to children, however, it is expected that children will benefit from the program applying for McGillivray funds.
Application deadline is October 15th of each year.
