Carm Michalenko
Executive Director
Carm became Executive Director of SCF in December of 2015. Carm holds a B.Comm in Marketing and Finance from U of S and an MBA from University of Regina. For the 18 years prior to joining SCF, she has been with Affinity Credit Union where she managed all areas of strategic marketing, including sponsorships and community giving initiatives. She is past board chair READ Saskatoon and a thirty-year member of the Business and Professional Women’s Organization. Carm has also held leadership roles for various boards and committees in our community. She has a blended family with her partner Rick Galarneau and three adult children, ages 29, 25 and 20, which she says keeps her young at heart!
Don Ewles
Grants and Communications Manager
Don joined the Foundation team in September of 2008. With a broad background in the not-for-profit sector, including experience working for a variety of charitable organizations, Don brings an awareness of the needs of our community. His expertise in communications begins with an M.A. in English, and includes experience teaching English at the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Regina, as well as writing and editing a wide variety of materials for various community organizations, including a national newsletter for the Canadian Epilepsy Alliance. Don also serves on the board of the Saskatoon Society of Fundraising Executives.
Elaine Lozinski
Donor Services Coordinator
Elaine Lozinski joined the staff team at the Saskatoon Community Foundation in the spring of 2015. She brings to the Foundation a strong focus on customer service and over her career, has work experience in administration, human resources and finance. Elaine believes it is vital to love what you do for a living and wants to make a difference with her career. She has a deep love of the prairies, having lived in various places throughout the province and over the last few years, she has developed an interest in the maturing population. Elaine is proud to bring her strengths, passions and dedication to enhancing our community.
Shauna Morrison
Marketing Coordinator
Shauna Morrison joined the Saskatoon Community Foundation team in August of 2016. After years of working in the not-for-profit sector, Shauna gained a wealth of knowledge and experience that has been valuable in her role as Marketing Coordinator. Shauna has a Business Certificate, Marketing Diploma and a Digital Marketing Certificate. Shauna loves to learn and is currently working towards her Graphic Design Certificate. Shauna has a special interest in digital storytelling and looks forward to sharing SCF’s stories with the community.
Nancy Smale
Finance and Administration Manager
Nancy Smale attained her CPA (CMA designation) in 2000 and her CAFM (Certified Aboriginal Financial Manager) designation in 2016. Nancy was most recently employed at Stonefield Systems Group and prior to that she was the Accountant/Controller at Saskatchewan Indian Equity Foundation. Nancy lived in Calgary for nine years, returning to Saskatoon in 2010. In Calgary, she was the Project Manager for a number of Software Implementation Projects. A key focus area for Nancy at SCF is improving office systems as our Foundation grows. Nancy’s diverse knowledge and experience in accounting, technology and Information Systems will ensure SCF can meet our donors’ technology needs in the future. Nancy is so grateful and happy to be back in Saskatoon.
