This year we celebrate Random Act of Kindness Day on November 6! RAK Day is a chance for Saskatonians to remind each other why we love our great city and show each other kindness and compassion!

Driven by a dedicated committee of volunteers in the business community, we are proud to say this this is the fifth annual RAK Day in Saskatoon!

What is RAK Day?

It is a city wide celebration of kindness promoting a ‘pay it forward’ movement in the community that takes place annually on the first Friday in November. It is not a fundraising activity and no solicitation occurs during this event. RAK Day is meant to be a fun and simple way to encourage unexpected moments of kindness in our community.

How does it work?

Do something nice for someone and ask nothing more than for that person to pay it forward. We have created RAK Day ‘Pay it Forward’ cards that can be left behind so that person has the information they need to also participate in RAK Day. Pay it Forward cards are available for pick up at the Saskatoon Community Foundation office at 101 – 308 4th Ave North.

Not sure how to show your kindness? Get a group together and plan a neighbourhood clean-up. Volunteer at a charity. Shovel someone’s walk. Compliment a stranger. We have a list of 101 Acts of Kindness to get your started.

Sign up to be a Kindness Crew in 2016 and spread the kindness. We can provide Kindness Crews Pay it Forward cards so you can encourage others to be a part of Random Act of Kindness Day. We would love to promote the good work you are doing on our social media channels on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
