Cameco Caring Community Grants Total $35,500

Saskatoon Community Foundation provides administration for Cameco’s “flow-through” grants program: Cameco Caring Community. The granting program has three objectives:

  • to focus on building a healthy community for tomorrow by offering opportunities today;
  • to focus on building community strengthens and assets by mobilizing civic participation and resources; and
  • to support initiatives that promote self-reliance, develop leadership skills and emphasize prevention.

2007 Cameco Caring Community Grant Recipients

$1,550 to Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Saskatoon and Area to purchase a projector to present more current training and orientation packages.

$2,650 to Pope John Paul 11 to create mural at the Pediatric Outpatients Unit at the Royal University Hospital

$2,200 to Walter Murray Collegiate to create murals in the games room of Ronald MacDonald House.

$3,150 to Caroline Robbins Community School to create drawings and cultural murals throughout the school.

$2,750 to READ Saskatoon to support the Facilities Together Project which brings families together weekly to enjoy literacy based activities.

$4,200 to St Mary’s Parent Association for the Pleasant Hill After School program.

$1,500 to Epilepsy Saskatoon Inc to support a workshop for families and children, as well as adults living with chronic seizures.

$2,500 to Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan to support Learning Series, Support and Learning Groups and Learning Series.

$4,000 to Saskatchewan Deaf & Hard of Hearing Services as funding for Youth Camp.

$4,500 to Mount Royal Collegiate for instructional and program costs of the High School Carpentry Apprenticeship Program
