George Keter Appointed to Saskatoon Community Foundation Board of Directors
Saskatoon Community Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of George Keter to the Board of Directors.
George is Chief Executive Officer of Affinity Credit Union and has worked in the co-operative financial system for over thirty years, holding a variety of senior executive positions. He was appointed to the Board of United Way of Saskatoon in 2007 and previously served on the United Way Cabinet. He is a Director of SaskCentral Credit Union and is on the Board of the Canadian Co-operative Association. He also serves on the Board of Apex Investments, a $50 million venture capital fund serving small and medium sized business enterprises in Saskatchewan. George is a past director of the Community Clinic Foundation in Saskatoon and of Abbeyfield Homes of Saskatoon.
Saskatoon Community Foundation is a member of Community Foundations of Canada, a vibrant and growing network of 158 community foundations. Community foundations are one of the world’s fastest growing philanthropic movements, with more than 1,100 foundations in 42 countries. Saskatoon Community Foundation was founded by seven community leaders in 1970 and now grants income to local charities from an endowment fund worth more than $17 million. In 2007 grants totaled approximately $800,000.
