Myrna Bentley Appointed Chair of Saskatoon Community Foundation

Saskatoon Community Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Myrna Bentley as Chair.

Myrna is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Concentra Financial Services Association and Concentra Trust, both federally-regulated financial institutions operating nationally. Under her leadership Concentra has received recognition over several consecutive years as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers and one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies. An active community volunteer, Myrna has served on the boards of many non-profit organizations.

Myrna’s Executive Committee also includes Jan Thomson, Chartered Accountant and Community Volunteer as Vice-Chair; Scott Cherry, President of Cherry Insurance, as Secretary Treasurer, and Susan Milburn, Saskatoon Branch Manager for Raymond James Ltd, as Past-Chair.

Saskatoon Community Foundation is a member of Community Foundations of Canada, a vibrant and growing network of 158 community foundations. Community foundations are one of the world’s fastest growing philanthropic movements, with more than 1,100 foundations in 42 countries. Saskatoon Community Foundation was founded by seven community leaders in 1970 and now grants income to local charities from an endowment fund worth more than $17 million. In 2007 grants totaled approximately $800,000.
