Leadership Saskatoon Award

As part of its efforts to build capacity within Saskatoon's charitable sector, Saskatoon Community Foundation will be paying the $2,500 tuition for one participant in the 2008-2009 Leadership Saskatoon program. Applications for the foundation’s Leadership Saskatoon Award considered from employees or volunteers involved with an organization with registered charity status from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

Saskatoon Community Foundation, a founding partner of Leadership Saskatoon along with the University of Saskatchewan and Chamber of Commerce, launched this award in 2003 after seeing the benefits of the Leadership Saskatoon personal leadership development program. Leadership Saskatoon’s mission is to develop and enhance the potential of emerging leaders by exploring the realities, opportunities and challenges of our community. This is accomplished by bringing together people from all sectors of the community to learn and work together over a nine-month period.

Application deadline for Saskatoon Community Foundation's 2008 Leadership Saskatoon Award has expired for this year. Please check back for next year's application deadline.

Strategic Alliance Award

Partnerships have long been identified by the Saskatoon Community Foundation as a valuable way to enhance quality of life by strengthening the community. The concept of building capacity is based on a belief that within any community there are individuals, groups and organizations with the abilities, skills and resources to respond creatively and effectively to local problems and challenges. It means looking at a community as a place with many skills, talents and others assets to be nurtured and mobilized, rather than a place needing services to fix all its problems.

The foundation’s Strategic Alliance Award acknowledges the importance of bringing together these varied resources through partnerships involving businesses and charities. This award encourages the development of such alliances by recognizing business and charities, which have worked together over time to enhance Saskatoon’s quality of life.

In 2008, the Strategic Alliance Award is accompanied by a $5,000 grant for the charity to use at its discretion. Nominations considered from partnerships involving at least one business and one organization with registered charity status from the Canada Revenue Agency. This year's nomination deadline has passed.

Application will be available soon.
