Grants and Communications Manager
Don joined the Saskatoon Community Foundation team in September of 2008. Don has a broad background in the charitable sector, having managed programs and developed resources for several local organizations, including Friends of the Broadway Theatre, Epilepsy Saskatoon, Hemophilia Saskatchewan and Jubilee Residences. His career began with an M.A. in English, and he taught English at the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Regina, before seeking a career in the charitable sector. He has written and edited a wide variety of materials for the organizations he has served, as well as a national newsletter for the Canadian Epilepsy Alliance. Don served for 13 years on the board of the Saskatoon Society of Fundraising Executives.
Carm became Executive Director of SCF in December of 2015. Carm holds a B.Comm in Marketing and Finance from U of S and an MBA from University of Regina. For the 18 years prior to joining SCF, she has been with Affinity Credit Union where she managed all areas of strategic marketing, including sponsorships and community giving initiatives. She is past board chair of READ Saskatoon and a thirty-year member of the Business and Professional Women’s Organization. Carm has also held leadership roles for various boards and committees in our community. She has a blended family with her partner Rick Galarneau and three adult children, which she says keeps her young at heart!
Marketing and Development Coordinator
Jessie Usselman is an engaged and passionate community member. With extensive experience as a financial literacy facilitator she has worked with various groups such as Read Saskatoon, Saskatoon Industry-Education Council and Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce to increase financial awareness, access and skills for individuals in Saskatchewan. Usually equipped with a selfie stick, she is always ready for a group selfie while at events! As part of the Saskatoon Community Foundation she works with its board and staff team together to effect encouraging experiences for the donors and positive change for our community.
Donor Services Administrator
Krys loves assisting individuals to help reach their goals. She brings a strong focus on providing excellent customer service with over 20 years' experience in the finance and cooperative sector. In 2003 she obtained a Business Administration Certificate from the University of Saskatchewan. Born and raised in Saskatoon, she has always ensured she is giving back to the community she loves. Krys spends her lunch hours either walking along the beautiful Meewasin Trail, or playing games with her mentee as part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters In-School Mentorship Program. She enjoys building meaningful connections with the donors and friends of the foundation. As part of the staff team and the leadership from the board she is contributing to make Saskatoon the best community in which to live!
Philanthropic Advisor & Manager of Development
Jen Pederson joined SCF in March 2018 as Philanthropic Advisor and Manager of Development. She holds a BA in history from the U of S as well as her Certified Fundraising Executive designation and has spent her career working in and for the non-profit and charitable sector. Jen feels a very personal connection to the notion of legacy and is inspired every day by the generosity of her community. Always involved in volunteer boards and committees, Jen chaired the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Saskatoon Chapter and is currently on the local chapter board of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners. She and her husband, Doug, have three children and love supporting their school, sports, and arts programs, and watching them grow to be part of and contribute to their community.
Finance and Administration Manager
Sameer joined SCF as Manager, Finance and Administration in 2018. He is a Certified Professional Accountant and also holds a Master of Science in Finance degree from the University of Saskatchewan. He brings with him over 10 years of experience in the banking sector having taken various financial advising roles. He has held such roles as Controller in the private sector, including more than 4 years as Controller at a not-for-profit organization. These various roles have given him an in depth strong financial knowledge of both private and not-for-profit industry needs. Sameer is actively involved with various community associations in Saskatoon including Nepalese Community of Saskatoon, and Sri Satya Sai Centre of Saskatoon.
Office and Finance Assistant
Suzanne joined the team at SCF in July 2018. She brings strong organizational and interpersonal skills with her from 10+ years of administrative experience and thrives working in an organization where she can make a difference. She has been calling Saskatoon home since 2003 and now enjoys exploring and taking in community events with her toddler twins.
